Disco edits are dangerously close to becoming as outplayed and redundant as B-More became a couple of years ago. However the disco edit will undoubtedly have longevity on the music scene due to the vast amount of musical expressions connected to it. Where B-More became a fad because the people who started the fad abandoned it, I have a hard time believing that the New Yorkers and Norwegians that made disco the new fad will ever leave it behind.

Anyways, the disco edit is still alive and kicking, and the latest and greatest edition to it is from purist disco label Mindless Boogie. Previously they released edits from my fellow countryman Prins Thomas as well as Brooklynites In Flagranti.

This time around, however, it´s Belgian duo Villa´s time to shine with three great edits of three different disco divas: Anita Meyer og Rotterdam fame, Agnetha Fältskog of ABBA fame, and Tina Turner of Ike & Tina fame. They are all sow burners but I have a feeling they have the potential to rock any dancefloor this summer.

I have to confess my favorite is the Anita Meyer edit, and if you want this and the other two tracks in crisper wav format you can head over to the Mindless Boogie web site.
